A2 G324: FILMING JOURNAL 2

FILMING JOURNAL 2:

BEDROOM (1) -

Since I will be filming in two locations I will need to make a filming journal for the second location (bedroom). This post will be how the evening panned out.

There were no specific times for this location filming because it was in a house. The aim of the filming was to capture footage of the actress singing and dancing to the music. I wanted each scene to have a different neon lighting to make the music video more entertaining and visually appealing

However, I had to make the sure the colour of the lights was not too rich because it could cause the
footage to look grainy and fuzzy. A lot of testing was needed so that the video would look crisp and professional.

FOOTAGE CAPTURED -

Each video has a different colour to make the video more interesting. However, I will need to choose each clip carefully otherwise, the colours may clash and look overused.

WINE GLASS SHOTS -

I had planned to put wine shots in the beginning middle and end of the music video, however, I might choose to not include them. I filmed them anyway just in case I changed my mind.

To create the lighting I used a mood cube.

The glass shots were not at clear as the other footage I have filmed since I used the wrong lens. I needed to use a lens that was specific for close up shots. At least I know that for next time.

This is an itinerary for the day to show the timings of trains and filming. I have organised each section carefully so it is clear to understand.

A2 G324: FILMING PLAN

GOD'S OWN JUNKYARD:

FILMING DAY -
November 10th October
Friday 10:30am

How Did I Book the Location:

I contacted the manager at the location and asked what the best time to film was as I did not want to start filming while the public are looking around the junkyard. As this would require permission. Fortunately, the manager allowed me and 3 others to start filming before the opening hours so we get the location to ourselves for 30 minutes. This was really helpful since I could set up the set without getting the public in shot. Therefore, on the day filming will be smoother and more organised.

Journey:
  • From Maidenhead to Walthamstow, it takes 1h 15m by car, without traffic.
  • Car journeys tend to be unreliable due to the accidents on the day, this could affect the whole filming plan, if I arrive at the location late.

Car journey analysis

From this, I have decided not to take the car to Walthamstow because of the traffic problems that could happen on the day. Therefore, I will need to look at other ways I can travel to the location, that would guarantee being their at 10:30am.

TRAIN -

Train would be an easier way to travel to the location. There are minimal accidents and problems with trains which means I could arrive there on time, if I left early. I will look more into the train journey to see if this is the most quickest way to get there.

This is the train journey schedule.

The journey requires going no the Baker loo line and Victoria line to get to Walthamstow.  This is a quicker route compared to the first journey I showed above the tube map.

ROUTE -

This is the journey we will take on the filming day.

WHEN WE ARRIVE -

When we arrive at the location, I will sort out the payments for the hiring of the location, and tell my crew to help me set up the equipment. The actress will need to change into her outfit for the music video. This is the list of equipment I will be using on the day:

  • Camera Stabiliser & Weights
  • Camera
  • Tripod
  • Camera Battery
  • Camera SD card

Since I have already visited the location, I know where I will set up the equipment, and I have a good idea of what shots I will be filming. I am also going to ask the actress what shots she wants to be included, because i want to consider all ideas for filming. I will aim to have more footage than I need, so I can make sure the music video does not stay at a slow pace.
